“A community of learners - Sharing the joys of teaching and learning - Creating and refining a vision of science education - Helping teachers put this vision into practice with their students”
Start making plans now to attend the annual conference of the
Arizona Science Teachers Association scheduled for
September 25 - 26, 2008. Once again, it
will be held at the Mesa Convention Center.
The ASTA Conference is an excellent way to meet other science educators, share ideas, and work
together in advocating standards-based science teaching and learning for all of Arizona's children.
The conference is also an excellent opportunity to explore hundreds of science classroom
resources by visiting exhibitors in more than 50 booths.
Early Bird Registration Rates are effective until August 30, 2008.

The Conference Program Committee is seeking program
proposals for the upcoming ASTA Conference scheduled for
September 25-26, 2008. All proposals must be submitted online.
No proposals will be accepted by mail, phone, or fax. Online
submission is more efficient and makes it possible for the
Conference Program Committee to provide you with timely program
information.
All conference
participants (including all presenters) must pay registration fees.
In previous years, ASTA waived one day’s
registration fee for the main presenter of each program session on the day of the
presentation. Due to increased facilities, catering, and other associated program
costs, the ASTA Executive Board is no longer able to waive registration fees. We
understand the concerns associated with this policy and appreciate your
flexibility.
We look forward to the
sharing of expertise in teaching science with others so that we can all grow in our
profession.
If you have questions regarding the conference program, please
contact Susan Giesaking by email at
Susan_Giesaking@gilbert.k12.az.us or by phone at 480-497-3354.
Deadline for submitting
program proposals - July 15, 2008
