March 1, 2008 Sally Ride Science Festival
This event is for students in grades 5-8 and their parents. The event features an exhibitor street fair, a keynote talk by Sally Ride, and workshops for students taught by local professionals in many different science fields, and workshops for adults on how to support their children’s interest in science. The Sally Ride Science Festival also includes an Educator Institute which is exclusively for teachers. The institute features workshops that show teachers how to integrate and customize science careers curriculum for their classroom. Teachers will also attend a keynote talk by Sally Ride. Both events are on March 1, 2008 at Arizona State University in Tempe and will run parallel to one another.  The festival and institute both begin at 11 AM and end at 4 PM.
