Given the continued emphasis on accountability and highg-stakes testing, it is crucial that professional educators understand the assessment process and potential consequences to students with special emphasis on developing defensible alternative assessments, evaluation of programs, alignment of curriculum and assessment, and individualized assessments (e.g., AIMS).
