AM  210 INTRODUCTION TO ARTS MANAGEMENT       (3)

History, law, and problems associated with organizations governed by volunteer boards; fund raising, grant writing, publicity, personnel management, programming, office management of nonprofit arts organizations.  Letter grade only.

 

AM  308 ARTS MANAGEMENT PRACTICUM     (1-6)

Field experience in an arts organization; exposure to and practical experience in the tasks of an arts manager preparatory to AM 408C. Pass-fail only.  Prerequisite: written description of proposed practicum.  Department consent required.

 

AM  310 MARKETING THE ARTS       (3)

Letter grade only.

 

AM  310W DEVELOPMENT AND MARKETING FOR THE ARTS       (3)

Grant writing and marketing for local arts organizations. This course fulfills NAU's junior-level writing requirement. 3 hrs. lecture, 1 hr. lab.  Letter grade only. Prerequisite: (AM 210 and MGT 303 and MKT 303) and Corequisite: AM 308 JWRT

 

AM  389 COOPERATIVE EDUCATION       (1-12)

Individualized preplanned cooperative employment experience related to your filed of study or career objectives.  Pass-fail only.  May be repeated for a maximum of 12 units.

 

AM  408 FIELDWORK EXPERIENCE       (1-12)

Supervised field experience in an appropriate agency or organization.  Pass-fail only.  May be repeated for a maximum of 12 units.

 

AM  408C FIELDWORK EXPERIENCE       (1-12)

Supervised field experience in an appropriate agency or organization.  Pass-fail only.  May be repeated for a maximum of 12 units.  Department consent required. Prerequisite: AM 410 CAP

 

AM  410 ARTS MANAGEMENT PRACTICES       (3)

Principles, procedures, and problem solving in the various areas of arts management. Recommended: AM 210.  Letter grade only.

 

AM  497 INDEPENDENT STUDY     (1-6)

Individualized approach to selected topics by guided reading and critical evaluation. Pass-fail only.  No repeat limit. 

 

AM  499 CONTEMPORARY DEVELOPMENTS     (1-3)

Examines recent trends and investigations in a selected area.  Letter grade only.  No repeat limit.
