You may pursue the following academic plans through the School of Communication’s advertising program:
B.A. Interdisciplinary Studies: advertising (extended major)
B.S. Interdisciplinary Studies: advertising (extended major)
We offer these plans to prepare you for a career in advertising or a related profession by blending a theoretical base and practical experience. The broad objective of our plans is to provide you with instruction, guidance, and a professional perspective in advertising and its related fields. We teach advertising in the broader context of a communication channel for marketing activity, which includes creative strategy development, media planning, target audience identification, copy and layout design, and campaign development.
We offer you an integrated approach to communication and require that you complete courses in advertising, communication, and journalism. We assign individual and team projects and offer you direct contact with leading advertisers in our senior-level courses.
