Undergraduate Information

You may pursue the following academic plans in the College of Engineering and Natural Sciences Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering:

The educational objectives of our undergraduate plans are to develop graduates who are recognized throughout industry, government, and academia for the ability to “get things done”.  Our graduates are prepared to:  use mathematical, scientific, and engineering principles to formulate solutions to multi-disciplinary problems; create and implement safe, economical, and sustainable designs using appropriate technology and methods; are independent learners who communicate effectively, work well on project teams, and can assume a leadership role; and adhere to ethical standards and seek professional licensure, consider the implications of their actions, and contribute to society beyond the requirements of their employment.

Our civil engineering and environmental engineering plans are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, 111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202-4012, (410) 347-7700.

We offer the master of engineering (M.Eng.), a tri-university degree program, in collaboration with Arizona State University and the University of Arizona.

Graduate Information

You may pursue the following graduate academic plans as part of a tri-university program, in collaboration with Arizona State University and the University of Arizona:

These academic plans are intended to meet the educational needs of Arizona’s practicing engineers and residential students. An important feature of these collaborative plans is that you may take advantage of course offerings at any of the three partner institutions, with minimal transfer limitations.

With input from industry, Arizona’s state universities have created, and continue to create, courses to enhance and/or develop skills, knowledge, and understanding critical to today’s practicing engineers. We offer courses through a variety of forms, including distance-delivery methods and flexible formats. These offerings reflect the diversity of strengths across the state, and we encourage you to develop your plan of study with this in mind.

Please note the following general policies that apply to all master of engineering students:

Specific requirements for this academic plan are described in the section that follows. In addition, curricular tracks are being developed by the faculty to make it easier for you to determine a suitable plan of study. Each curricular track has specific course requirements in addition to the general plan requirements described below.

Check the Tri-University Master of Engineering website at http://triuniv.engr.arizona.edu/ for detailed information about available curricular tracks and distance courses.

Please note that when you take distance education courses, you are charged a fee of $200 per unit of credit in addition to tuition. Upon request, this fee is waived for graduate assistants and students taking at least 6 units of residential courses in addition to distance courses.
