If you are a licensed dental hygienist with an associate degree or certificate, we have developed alternate requirements for you to complete the B.S.D.H.
To earn this degree, you must complete 120 credit units, with at least 30 units from NAU. You must also meet all of NAU’s liberal studies requirement; see the section titled NAU’s Academic Plans for information about these 35 units. (Be aware that you may not use courses with a DH prefix to satisfy these liberal studies requirements.)
In addition, NAU requires that at least 30 units of the courses you take for your degree must be upper-division courses (those numbered 300 and above).
Within the 30 units required from NAU, you take the following 18 units:
SHP 300W, DH 373W, or PHI 332W, each of which meets NAU’s junior writing requirement (3 units)
DH 350, 440, and 450 (9 units)
3 units from DH 300, 340, 369, 401, 416, 418, 419, 430, 460, 497, and 499
DH 495C, which meets NAU’s senior capstone requirement (3 units)
