This academic plan is designed for students who want to understand and explore our human world from cultural, social, and economic geography perspectives. The nonthesis plan requires a major paper that is not a traditional thesis, but is of similar effort and accomplishment and is overseen by your practicum committee.
To earn this 36-unit plan, which includes completing a major paper, you take:
7-unit rural geography core: GGR 642, 681, and 687
9 units of human geography electives, such as GGR 546, 574, and 576 and PL 501
3 units of physical geography electives, such as GGR 545 and 547
6 units of GGR 689, a professional practicum
11 units of electives approved by your advisor from geography, public planning, and other social sciences and humanities courses
