This academic plan is designed for students who want to understand and explore our human world from cultural, social, and economic geography perspectives.
To earn this 36-unit plan, which includes completing a thesis, you take:
7-unit rural geography core:
GGR 642, 681, and 687
9 units of human geography electives, such as GGR 546, 574, and 576 and PL 501
3 units of physical geography electives, such as GGR 545 and 547
6 units of GGR 699, for the research, writing, and oral defense of an approved thesis
(Please be aware that you can only count 6 units of thesis credit toward your degree. However, you may end up taking more units because you must enroll for GGR 699 each term while you are working on your thesis.)
11 units of electives approved by your advisor from geography, public planning, and other social sciences and humanities courses
