We offer a number of non-degree certificates, some of which are open to all NAU students.
We guarantee your acceptance into any of our certificate plans that are open to all NAU students if you have:
major status in The W. A. Franke College of Business
or a 2.75 cumulative grade point average with at least 30 units earned
If you have a grade point average of less than 2.75 but at least 2.5, we will admit you into a certificate plan on a space-available basis, based on the rank order of your grade point average.
For a list of certificates open to nonbusiness majors, contact the Office of Academic Services in The W. A. Franke College of Business. If you are not a business major but wish to complete a certificate through The W. A. Franke College of Business, you must apply to the Office of Academic Services.

Also note that you must have junior status in order to enroll in upper-division business courses.
Finally, you should know that you must have at least 6 units of certificate coursework that are not used in your major or other certificates, and you must complete at least 6 units of certificate coursework at NAU.
To complete this certificate, you take the following 18 units with a cumulative grade point average of 2.00:
ACC 255, 256, 300, 355, and 356 (15 units)
ACC 302 or 460 (3 units)

To complete this certificate, you take the following 15 units with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00:
ECO 284 and 285 (6 units)
9 units from ECO 321, 325, 356, 384, 385, 420, 425, 445, 446, 464, 473, 480, 483, 484, 486, and 498C

To complete this certificate, you take the following 15 units with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00:

Please note that if you are a finance major, you can’t use FIN 451 in both your major and this certificate; instead, take FIN 431.
ACC 302 or 460 or, if you are an accounting major, ACC 402 (3 units)

This certificate is available to qualifying students pursuing either the B.S. in Accountancy or the B.S.B.A.
To be admitted to this certificate plan, you must be a business major and have an approved plan for completing the following requirements:
Demonstrate a third-term proficiency in a language other than English, either by passing a language proficiency exam at the third-term level or by completing a third-term language course (201) with at least a grade of C.
Complete 9 units from ECO 483 and 486, FIN 480, MGT 380, 405, and MKT 480.
Complete 6 units of nonbusiness courses that enhance your understanding, knowledge, awareness, and perspectives of international affairs. (Please note that up to 6 units of this requirement may be waived with proof of an academic international experience such as study abroad or an international internship.)
