For this 39-unit program, which involves preparing a research-based thesis, you take:
15 units of core requirements:
ANT 569, 600, 605, 614 and 714
4-6 units of lab: ANT 514
6-9 units of additional formal coursework in anthropology
3-6 units from the following courses:
ENG 527, 528, 612, 618, 658, 668, ANT 581, or any 700-level English seminar with instructor's consent
3 units of individualized coursework, such as ANT 685 or 697
6 units of ANT 699, for the research, writing, and oral defense of an approved thesis
(Please note that you can only count 6 units of thesis credit toward your degree, even though you may end up taking more thesis units because you must register for ANT 699 each semester while you are working on your thesis.)
