PHO 181 COMMUNICATION PHOTOGRAPHY (3)

PHO 199 SPECIAL TOPICS (1-3)
Foundations of intellectual inquiry. In-depth study of a substantive problem. Letter grade only. May be repeated for up to 6 hours of credit.
PHO 281 BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPHY (3)

PHO 282 INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY WORKFLOW (3)
Fundamentals of digital photography; advanced camera handling, studio and natural light assignments with an introduction to digital photographic workflow and digital asset management. Letter grade only. Prerequisite: PHO 181 or PHO 281
PHO 284 BASIC PHOTOJOURNALISM (3)
Fundamentals of photojournalism and media photography; visual storytelling applications including multimedia, and photo editing. Highly recommended to take PHO 282 prior to or concurrently with PHO 284. Letter grade only. Prerequisite: PHO 181
PHO 285 INTERMEDIATE PHOTOGRAPHY (3)
Intermediate digital photography and computer image adjustments and workflow; emphasis on composition and technical control of photographic files. Digital-SLR with dedicated flash required. Strongly recommended to be taken prior to or concurrently with PHO 282.. 3 hrs. lecture. Letter grade only. Course fee required. Prerequisite: PHO 181 or PHO 281
PHO 381 INTERMEDIATE PHOTOJOURNALISM (3)
Photojournalism and documentary photography for newspaper, magazine, and multimedia outlets. Comprehensive project photography and advanced photo editing. Digital-SLR with dedicated flash required. 3 hrs lecture. Letter grade only. Course fee required. Prerequisite: PHO 181, PHO 282, and PHO 284
PHO 382 ADVANCED DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY WORKFLOW (3)
Advanced digital photography workflow. Working with raw images utilizing advanced computer editing techniques. Letter grade only. Course fee required. Prerequisite: (PHO 181 or 281), PHO 282, and PHO 285
PHO 383 COLOR PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY (3)
Advanced digital portrait photography and workflow; emphasis on color studio portraiture and natural lighting techniques. Color management with appropriate computer programs. Digital-SLR with dedicated flash required. Strongly recommended to be taken prior to or concurrently with PHO 382. Letter grade only. Course fee required. PHO 384 STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY (3)
Studio still commercial photography with emphasis on still life and tabletop subjects, composition, and lighting, large-format cameras provided. Digital-SLR with dedicated flash required. PHO 385 EXPERIMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY (3)

PHO 408 FIELDWORK EXPERIENCE (1-12)
Supervised field experience in an appropriate agency or organization. Department consent required. Pass-fail only. Course fee required.
PHO 466 LEGISLATIVE INTERNSHIP (1-12)
Supervised internship in the Arizona Legislature during spring term. Students are selected on a competitive basis, and you must apply during the fall term. (To be eligible, you must be a candidate for a bachelor's degree, have completed all lower-division requirements, and have attained senior status at the end of the fall term preceding the internship.) Course enrollment is handled by the associate provost for academic administration after the legislature has made its final selection. Pass-fail only. Department consent required.

PHO 484 CORPORATE AND INDUSTRIAL PHOTOGRAPHY (3)
