The Interdisciplinary Health Policy Institute (IHPI) fosters trans-disciplinary innovation in health and health care-related research and teaching across the Northern Arizona University campus. IHPI is founded on the principle that strategic partnerships and interdisciplinary teams most effectively meet today’s health and health care challenges. Our mission is to improve individual, family, and community health in Arizona and beyond by advancing multidisciplinary public health policy, research, community partnerships, and education.
Our researchers and teachers come from the health professions, humanities, sciences, social sciences, business, and engineering. The Institute welcomes the affiliation of all kinds of health-related researchers, teachers, and health care practitioners. Please see the Affiliation page for details on benefits and eligibility.
The Institute is composed of four specialty offices, each headed by a senior scientist who coordinates projects in his or her area: Health Disparities Improvement, Wellness and Healthy Communities, Health Information and Program Evaluation, Health and Society Studies.
You may pursue the following graduate academic plans through the Interdisciplinary Health Policy Institute:
