Our family nurse practitioner plan prepares you to deliver primary care to underserved rural populations. You will also be eligible for state certification in Arizona, for application for prescribing and dispensing privileges in Arizona, and for application for national certification as a family nurse practitioner.
For this plan, which requires 48 units, you take the following:
required graduate nursing courses (46 units):
NUR 510, 520, 530, 540, 550, 560, 605, 650, 651, 660, 661, 662, 663, 664, 665, and 675
professional project or thesis (2 units):
NUR 689 or 699
If you have an M.S. in nursing before starting the family nurse practitioner plan, your total units are reduced to 38, and you take all courses except NUR 510, 530, 605, and 689/699.
