We designed this plan for the registered nurse (RN) who desires to build a professional clinical foundation of practice exploring a selected emphasis relevant to his or her goals of advancement. While not a speciality focus, this plan allows the RN with a prior baccalaureate degree to continue to develop expertise within a desired emphasis as either an interim or final academic credential.
This 30 credit plan includes the following:
Required graduate nursing courses (16 credits):
NUR 510, NUR 520, NUR 530, NUR 560, NUR 605, NUR 675
An emphasis area that includes three courses from the following (9 credits):
NUR 501, NUR 540, NUR 550, NUR 562, NUR 630, NUR 650/651, NUR 570, NUR 572, or other elective approved by advisor
In addition, all students will complete clinical field work in relation to the completion of their Evidence Based Practice Project:
NUR 608 (3 credits) and NUR 689 (2 credits).
