To complete this certificate, take the following 15 units:

Core Requirements (3 units):

• ES 600

U.S. Ethnic Diversity Requirement (9 units)

• Take 9 units from the following: ANT 615 or 616; BME 570; CCJ 545; HIS 505 or 592*; ENG 545, 546, or 547; POS 657; EPS 596; SOC 512 or 515; SPA 531

Note: No more than 6 credit hours can be taken from a single discipline.

Diaspora/Global Requirement (3 units)

• Select one of the following: ANT 548, 618, or 628; CCJ 515; HIS 520, 564, 565, or 580; ENG 651; POS 672, 676*, or 604*; SPA 532 or 534; WST 600 or 601*

*Note: only some topics are permissible; consult with the Ethnic Studies Director.

Students may not transfer any courses from other universities into this program.  No more than 6 units applied to another program can be counted towards this certificate.
