Certificate Positive Behavior Support

This certificate will prepare professional caregivers to give persons with developmental disabilities and behavior challenges instruction, opportunities to practice social skills, and reinforcement for success throughout the individual's day.  This program will prepare the student with knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and strategies to empower individuals to make critical lifestyle choices for themselves, including: person-centered planning, wrap-around planning, strengths-based planning, etc.  The combination of these factors has been called Positive Behavior Support (PBS), and graduates of this program may be eligible to obtain professional credential of Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and Licensed Behavior Analyst upon completing additional experience and examination requirements.

 

To complete this certificate, take 15 units in either of the following two options:
