Welcome to
the home of the United States Air Force ROTC Detachment
027!

Students involved with
the Air Force ROTC program at Northern Arizona
University enjoy a truly unique college experience. ROTC
students receive leadership guidance and development, as
well as quality instruction aimed toward producing
strong leaders and better citizens for the US Air Force
and America!

Cadets
Students in the Air Force ROTC program assume the rank
of cadet. Within the ROTC corps of cadets, experienced
cadets take on leadership responsibilities and roles
inside the detachment. All extracurricular ROTC
activities and Lead Lab Classes (LLAB) are coordinated
and organized by third- and fourth-year ROTC students.
This experience allows the upper-class cadets to
practice their leadership skills, and guide under-class
cadets as they learn basic, but essential, skills such
as marching and uniform wear.
The
cadets of Detachment 027 participate in all intramural
sports programs, attend base visits, participate in
shadow programs, take F-16 simulator rides, fly on all
types of USAF aircraft (including fighters like the
F-16), and attend detachment sponsored social events.
Cadets are active in many other campus organizations as
well as ROTC. We are an active and integral part of the
NAU and Flagstaff community.
