Anthropology
MAJOR REQUIREMENTS
NAU Course Titles Arizona Western Course Titles
B.A. in Anthropology
All core courses required in this major are upper division. However, 16 hours of Anthropology electives, 21 hours of general electives, and 3 hours of statistics must be completed. It is recommended that students at the lower division complete courses from each of four disciplines: Physical/Biological Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology, Archaeology, and Linguistics.
Choose 1 - 2 courses from each of the following disciplines:

Linguistics

Students must demonstrate, through coursework or testing, a two-year, college-level proficiency in a language other than English. If this requirement is completed through coursework, up to eight hours may count toward Liberal Studies.
Minor required: Choose one of the 18-hour minors described in the NAU Undergraduate Catalog.
Extended B.A. in Anthropology
All requirements are the same as the B.A. in Anthropology, except students will need to select the additional 18 hours of major courses in anthropology and related subjects in consultation with an NAU advisor in the Department of Anthropology. Three hours of statistics are also required for the Extended B.A.
