Diversity Course Submission Process

(Arizona Community Colleges and Universities)


Diversity Background:

NAU has implemented the Diversity Requirement effective for all undergraduate students beginning with the 2005-2006 catalog.  Students following catalogs prior to 2005-2006 are not required to meet this requirement.  It is a university requirement which can be met by taking major, minor, liberal studies, or elective courses that have been approved as meeting the diversity requirement.  The requirement is three hours of US ethnic diversity and three hours of global diversity.  Global diversity is defined as "non-western".  Courses at other institutions that have been granted equivalency status to an NAU course that is on the Diversity Course list will meet the diversity requirement.


To expand opportunities for students to complete courses for the diversity requirement, prior to transfer, NAU has implemented a process for Arizona community colleges and universities to submit eligible courses for consideration for diversity area designations.  Use the quick links below.
