Out-of-state & non-aZ-transfer Articulation

Are you transferring from an out-of-state or private institution?

Welcome to the NAU Equivalency Student page. We are working in many ways to support our transfer students from Arizona's Private Institutions, as well as students from institutions outside of Arizona.

Out-of-State Course Equivalency Guide (OSCEG)
In this web page you will find a list of all the schools we have approved equivalencies for. Select Northern Arizona University (NAU), and then select the Alpha letter of the state the incoming institution, and then the institution.   The OSCEG will give you information about how a course will transfer into NAU. The OSCEG will not always give you the best information about how your transfer courses will apply to major(s) or minor(s).If you do not see your courses listed, please work with your academic advisor at NAU to have your courses reviewed.

OSCEG Help Document

The information in the OSCEG is not a substitute for an academic advisor. It should be used in conjunction with your academic advisor at Northern Arizona University.

For additional information you may also visit NAU's Undergraduate Admissions Transfer Student page.

IGETC - what is an IGETC?

If you transfer to NAU from a California community college and your transcript certifies that you completed an Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC), you also have satisfied NAU's liberal studies requirements. (The IGETC serves a function similar to Arizona's AGEC.)

The IGETC is ... the transfer core curriculum which fulfills the lower division general education requirements of both the UC and the CSU.

34 units for the UC

37 units for the CSU

It is an educational plan for California community college students designed to facilitate transferring to a four-year public university. Completion of the IGETC will permit a student to transfer without the need to take additional lower-division courses, as well as demonstrate preparedness and ability to handle college level work.

Are you an international student?
