MAJOR REQUIREMENTS

B.A. in Anthropology
All core courses required in this major are upper division. However, 16 hours of Anthropology electives, 21 hours of general electives, and 3 hours of statistics must be completed. Choose from direct equivalencies listed below and/or from any courses equivalent to DEC(ANT) in the Course Equivalency Guide.

or
PSY 230(4) Introduction to Research & Statistics
Statistics hours may be counted as general electives or liberal studies (only STA 270 can count for liberal studies)

No AWC Equivalent
You must complete 16 hours (two years or equivalent) of a language other than English. If you are already competent in such a language, you may test out of all or part of the requirement by taking CLEP exams arranged by NAU's Counseling and Testing Center. Eight of these 16 hours may be applied to NAU's liberal studies requirements.
Minor required (18 hrs. total)
Extended B.A. in Anthropology
All requirements are the same as the B.A. in Anthropology, except students will need to select the additional 18 hours of major courses in anthropology and related subjects in consultation with an NAU advisor in the Department of Anthropology.
