Assignment Title: Senior Companion Associate, (2
positions) 450 hrs.

:Senior Corps recruits and places seniors age 55 and older as volunteers
in the community helping agencies build capacity, serve homebound
elderly and/or serve children with special needs.
AmeriCorps Member Responsibilities:
1. Provide
companionship to assigned homebound elderly clients as indicated on
Client Care Plan.
2. Provide respite care to main caregiver, thus providing companionship
to their loved one so the main caregiver can attend to personal needs or
get needed rest, as indicated on Client Care Plan.
3. Provide homebound elderly assistance with Activities of Daily Living
as indicated on Client Care Plan.
4. May do other allowed activities as indicated by the Senior Companion
Program handbook.
AmeriCorps Member Qualifications:
1. Compassion for
homebound elderly.
2. Willingness to provide direct services to homebound elderly.
3. Willingness to run errands for homebound elderly.
4. Willingness to do light home duties for homebound elderly.
5. Willingness to be alone and helping homebound elderly.
