The Museum of Northern Arizona is a dynamic, evolving institution committed to inspiring a sense of love and responsibility for the beauty and diversity of the Colorado Plateau through collecting, studying, interpreting, and preserving the region’s natural and cultural heritage. We accomplish this through research, acquiring and preserving collections and creative educational programs and exhibits for the benefit of the community, school groups, and the general public, serving more than 70,000 visitors each year.

  AmeriCorps Service Assignment Description:

 1.  Member relations: Work collaboratively with Museum team to advance membership program by coordinating member activities

 2.  Special events: Assist in planning, implementing and staffing membership events and other public Museum programs including Zuni, Hopi, Navajo and Hispanic Festivals.

 3.  Communication: Member outreach including merging and personalizing letters, and preparing, updating and distributing promotional materials

 4.  Data entry: Help to maintain membership records in database,

5.   Promotion: Help recruit and contact members about attending upcoming events exhibit openings

AmeriCorps Member Qualifications:  

1. Friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic, with desire to work as positive team-member with diverse groups of people including Native American and Hispanic cultures.

2. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including comfort with public presentations

3. General computer competency and demonstrated ability in Microsoft Word and Excel

4. Availability for occasional weekend and evening activities and programs

5. Highly organized with ability to lead projects, take initiative and work independently
