AmeriCorps Member Responsibilities:
1. Tutor and mentor children individually or in small groups, during and after school hours.
2. Work in our aftercare program.
3. General classroom assistance with class teacher as supervisor.
4. Assist with our main office personnel when direct involvement with students wasn’t available.
5. Cooking and gardening assistance.
6. Coaching/leading drama club, yearbook club, chess club, basketball team .
7. Recess monitor duties.
8. Occasional light maintenance, if volunteer is able and interested.
AmeriCorps Member Qualifications:
1. Aptitude in math, writing and reading.
2. Interest/experience working with K-8 children.
3. Availability during the school day, M-F, 9-5, or flexible with
scheduling.
4. Flexible to work with mentor in creating schedule.
5. Flexible to not work many hours during summer vacation months.
