Amur Maple

Amur MapleAcer ginnala

Amur maple is native to the northern regions of Asia including China, Korea, and Japan. Introduced to the New England states around 1860, it has escaped into woodland and prairie communities as far east as North Dakota and Iowa, where it competes with native vegetation. As an ornamental, it is a small tree prized for its fall foliage color and for the summer crimson color of its seeds.
