A LETTER TO THE NAU ARMY ROTC ALUMNI
Fellow Lumberjacks,
By way of introduction, my name is LTC Todd R. Hourihan, and I am the Professor of Military Science at Northern Arizona University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. We are attempting to build an alumni network of all former members of the Lumberjack Battalion.
The Lumberjack Battalion has grown significantly recently, now numbering over 200 cadets. In fact, we will commission 41 new lieutenants this year. Two years ago, the battalion was designated the top program in the Southwest, which includes all ROTC programs in California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona. We have won Ranger Challenge the past two years for the state of Arizona. The current success of our program is due in large part to the great legacy that each of you has left.
The Lumberjack Battalion also has a Facebook account, which is continually updated with photos and information by our Cadet S-5. Just follow this link tto join (note: you must have a current Facebook account to view or join this group). We'd like to have more alumni be part of our FB group, so please join. We are trying to reach out to all former Lumberjacks; we need your help. Please contact us if you are a former Lumberjack. Our goal is to set up a Lumberjack Cadet Hall of fame and we would like to kick this off in the spring semester of 2012. The Lumberjack Battalion has produced quality officers in the past, continue to do so for the present and the future. Drop us a note and let us know where you are if you are still in the force. If you are retired or left the Army, drop us a note and tell us what you are up to these days. We want to get a hold of as many former Lumberjacks as possible and start an annual Alumni social event in the Spring semester if we get enough Alumnus together.
Thank your for your service to our great Nation.
Go Lumberjacks!
