Families and guests

Northern Arizona University commencements will be held in the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome on Friday, December 17, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (See Fall 2010 Schedule). Guest attendance and seating at commencement are unrestricted. Guest seating is on the east side of the dome. No tickets are required.

If you or any of your guests are an individual with a disability and will require reasonable accommodation to participate in commencement, please contact Betty Zanot at (928)523-3312 or email Betty.Zanot@nau.edu. Requests for accommodation should preferably be made within one week of commencement to allow time to arrange the accommodation.

The academic procession will begin from the ground level of the Skydome promptly at
10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and proceed to the platform. The ceremony will begin as soon as the platform group has been seated and should conclude by 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. respectively.

Following commencement we will have designated areas outside of the Skydome for families to meet their graduate. Signs will be posted. There is no access to the Skydome floor following the ceremonies.

Several of the colleges will have receptions. Times and locations are listed on the Fall 2010 Schedule page.

For your personal safety, please remember that weather conditions in Flagstaff vary. Please check the local weather at www.weather.com to confirm conditions and take precautions when traveling.

Parking is available on commencement day at the locations outlined below. Shuttle bus service will begin at 8:00 a.m. and run until 5:00 p.m. at 15 minute intervals. Information about traffic changes for the commencement can be found at commencement traffic.

Traffic congestion is heavy during commencement. If you plan to attend your college or school's individual reception, we suggest that you park in a lot near your college or school's reception and use the NAU shuttle to and from the Skydome.

*Students, please arrive to the Skydome 1 hour early (9 a.m. or 2 p.m.) and find where you are to be seated and complete your name reader card.
