Lesson Name: Plants of the Arizona Regions
Rough Sketch of Layout
Description:

This is a modeling module showing a plant distribution map of Arizona. I will start the text up here:

There are many plants in the Plateau region of Arizona. Some of the trees you might see include ponderosa pine, blue spruce, alpine fir, elm, cottonwood, and aspen. The dry lands of the plateau also have yucca plants, various cactus plants, and numerous shrubs. Some of the smaller flowers include Indian paintbrush, lupine, columbine and various varieties of pinstemon.

Plants of the desert are very unique, as they need to be able to survive with limited amounts of water. The saguaro cactus is only one of the glorious desert denizens. You can also find the paloverde tree, the mesquite, barrel cactus, prickly pear, and agave.

Text: Many of the plants found in the mountain region are similar to those found in the plateaus of Arizona. There are Ponderosa Pine forests mixed with oak, there are Aspen groves with thimbleberry, and numerous areas of natural wild flowers.

Animation: By clicking an arrow, possibly, the stacked maps would separate for further exploration of the landforms and plant maps. Clicking on the small pictures will open up a screen with information about that plant, animal, or landform. Each plant, animal, and landform should have information such as Common Name, Latin Name, Where it lives, What it eats, What special thing does this organism have to allow it to adapt to this Region. For the 3D landforms, have the Name, How it was formed, and what are the extreme conditions that an organism must adapt to.
