Applying for Scholarships
The Committee uses the Financial Aid "Scholarship Interest Form" as the application for COE scholarships. To be considered for COE scholarships you must update your "Scholarship Interest Form" NO EARLIER THAN JANUARY 1 AND NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 28. Also, if you are filling our the Scholarship Interest Form for the first time, then make sure that in the form's first question you enter the year "2009" (which will specify the 2008-2009 school year).
Students who do not meet this criteria will not be eligible for consideration of COE scholarships that year. It is also critical that you complete the resume information fields (i.e. employment, volunteer activities, extra-curricular activities, misc., etc.) and the one page letter of interest. Files that do not have this information will not be eligible for consideration. In addition, since many of the scholarships require "financial need as documented by the Office of Financial Aid" you should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you do not have documented need as of the February 28th deadline you will not be eligible for needs based scholarships for that year. You must be admitted to NAU to complete the Scholarship Interest Form.
