what is ATLAS?

ATLAS
is one of the School of Communication file and authentication
servers. It is a central location for students and faculty
to save their files when working in classrooms and labs.
Your ATLAS account has nothing to do with your DANA
or JAN account. Only current SOC faculty and students
can have SOC labaccounts.
ATLAS services

- local file serving for MAC
and Windows computers
- remote file serving for MAC
and Windows computers via FTP
- access to scanning and printing
stations in 316
- access to specific class folders
What
is my ATLAS login and password?

Your ATLAS login is a
combination of the first three letters of your first
and last name as they appear on your NAU registration.
A user named Bob Burnquist would be registered with
NAU as Robert Burnquist. This users ATLAS login is robbur.
Notice the login is all lowercase with no spaces.
Your password is your
NAU ID with no spaces
Due to some users having
the same name, a few users have a 1 placed after their
user name,Another user named Robert Burnquist would
have the username robbur1. If you are unable to connect
to ATLAS, try adding a 1 to the end of your username.
How
do I get an ATLAS account?

Only current SOC faculty
and students can have ATLAS accounts.
If you do not have an account and you are an SOC student,
your instructor must request your ATLAS account. No
accounts will be given unless they are requested directly
by an instructor.
