What is the Law Enforcement Command Institute of the Southwest? Top
The Law Enforcement Command Institute is a joint project of Northern Arizona University and the Tucson Police Department in collaboration with the faculties at Arizona State University and the University of Arizona. The Institute brings together leading faculty from all the Arizona Universities, experienced law enforcement command staff, and nationally recognized experts to create a training and education program that merges the latest legal, criminal justice and management concepts, research, and theories with critical command operational and tactical decision making knowledge.
This school is open to any commander of any law enforcement agency looking for command education that blends theory and practical experience to build toward or enhance a foundation for an outstanding career as a law enforcement leader.

What Costs are Associated with The Command Institute? Top
Registration Fee

The registration fee for the two week Command Institute is $2,000.00. This covers all materials, lunch on each day of the Institute, as well as morning and afternoon breaks.

This rate includes a buffet breakfast.

Lunch each day will be provided as well as a banquet dinner on Thursday, March 13. The remaining meals are the responsibility of the participant or the participant’s agency.

Is Arizona POST Credit Available for the Institute? Top
This course has been determined to qualify for POST continuing training credit. Eighty hours of continuing equivalency credit will be awarded for the successful completion of the school. In addition, AZPOST allocation funds are pre-approved for this school for in-state commanders who have their agency's state allotted allocation funds available for training.

Is Academic Credit Available for the Institute? Top
Northern Arizona University will offer 3 hours of upper division academic credit for Public Agency Service (PAS) 399-Modular Learning Experience. The tuition for the academic credit is in addition to the registration fee for the Institute. The tuition and fees for the academic credit are $691.00. Registration for the academic credit will occur during the Institute. This option credit requires attending all Institute Session and participation in a post-institute web-based class. Details and registration will be provided on Monday, March 6.
