Professional Development


Northern Arizona University's Center for Science Teaching and Learning (CSTL) is a premier provider of professional development solutions for practicing science educators. From facilitating on-site, customized professional learning experiences to offering nationally recognized professional development programs the CSTL strives to offer the highest quality, most comprehensive professional development opportunities available to science educators.


The professional development team at the CSTL continually designs and offers programs and services addressing the challenges identified by PreK-12 educators in their efforts to provide effective science teaching for all learners. All of our professional development work is funded through grants and contracts from a variety of sources including national and state government agencies, foundations, and school districts. As a publicly supported entity, we are committed to designing and delivering professional learning programs that build understanding of science content, develop skills in science pedagogy, and increase capacity to implement exceptional PreK-12 science teaching.
