Program Overview
The Arizona Universities Network (AZUN) On-LineTeacher Certification Program for Science and Mathematics is available for those who already hold a degree in a mathematics, science, forestry, engineering or technology field and wish to earn secondary (Grades 7-12) teaching certification. The program consists of 31 credits and is offered through Northern Arizona University. All coursework is available on-line with the exception of field-based practicum courses held in grades 7-12 classrooms and 3 seminars held on weekends over the course of the program. Students who successfully complete the program will receive an Institutional Recommendation for teaching certification in Arizona*. Program participants will need to meet additional requirements for teacher certification from the Arizona Department of Education.

Home Institution
NAU is the "home institution" for this program. The home institution is the university where students will apply, register and pay tuition. Northern Arizona University will track your academic progress, provide student services and confer the Institutional Recommendation* for teaching certification to the state once all course requirements have been fulfilled.
