POSITION DESCRIPTIONS:

 

CSW ACTIVE CO-CHAIR POSITION DESCRIPTION

•Provide vision and leadership
•Assist the Executive Committee in identifying the annual goals and objectives
•Facilitate All-Commission and Executive Committee meetings
•Distribution of materials and information, which include the Commission's or working group's name, will be permitted at the discretion of the Active and Advisory Co-Chairs
•Report accomplishments to Arizona Board of Regents and the University President
•Act as a representative for the Commission to the campus, community and state
•Work directly with the Commission Chairs at ASU and U of A
•Respond to inquiries from the press and other groups regarding CSW actions, events, and positions
•Provide leadership, support, direction, and guidance to the Graduate Assistant
•Attend Way-Up Conference

 

CSW ADVISORY CO-CHAIR POSITION DESCRIPTION

•Act as advisor to the Active Co-Chair on all issues and matters relating to CSW
•Assist Active Co-Chair with providing vision and leadership
•Assist Active Co-Chair with reporting accomplishments to ABOR and the University President
•Distribution of materials and information, which include the Commission's or a working group name, will be permitted at the discretion of the Active and Advisory Co-Chairs
•Act as a representative for the Commission to the campus, community and state
•Assist the Active Co-Chair in providing leadership, support, direction, and guidance to the Graduate Assistant
•Attend All-Commission meetings and Leadership Working Group meetings
•Attend Way-Up Conference

 

CSW LEADERSHIP WORKING GROUP POSITION DESCRIPTION

•Co-Chair or Chair a working group
•Provide vision and leadership to members of that working group
•Schedule and facilitate working group meetings
•Assist the Active Co-Chair in identifying the annual goals and objectives
•Will receive permission from the Co-Chairs prior to distributing materials and information, which include the Commission's or a committee name
•Report to the Leadership Working Group regarding the group's plans and accomplishments
•Attend All-Commission meetings and Leadership Working Group meetings

 

CSW COMMISSIONER POSITION DESCRIPTION

•Serve as an active member on one working group
•Will receive permission from the Co-Chairs prior to distributing materials and information, which include the Commission's or a working group name
•Attend all scheduled working group meetings
•Attend All-Commission meetings

 

CSW ADVOCATE POSITION DESCRIPTION

•Advocates are invited to participate on working groups and attend All-Commission meetings and CSW events
•Will receive permission from the Co-Chairs prior to distributing materials and information, which include the Commission's or a working group name
•There is no obligation or commitment with the Advocate status

 

GRADUATE ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION

To maintain and coordinate all functions of the CSW office, including assisting Co-Chairs and communicating with the Leadership Working Group, Commissioners and Advocates

OFFICE FUNCTIONS

•Record and distribute the minutes of All-Commission and Leadership Working Group meetings
•Arrange, coordinate, set-up and break-down All-Commission meetings
•Arrange and coordinate Leadership Working Group meetings
•Assist Co-Chairs with University President, Executive Vice President and Provost meetings
•Assist  with the membership application and election process
•Maintain budget and handle billings
•Assist Co-Chairs with budget proposals
•Maintain Foundation Account information
•Assist Co-Chairs, Leadership Working Group members, Commissioners and Advocates with special projects
•Arrange and coordinate special meetings
•Design and coordinate mass emails
•Distribute CSW mailings
•Assist Co-Chairs with awards and certificates
•Assist with locating and interviewing student interns
•Supervise student interns
•Arrange hotel, travel and meal accommodations for conference attendees

COMMUNICATIONS

•Communicate the Commission's history, mission, structure and accomplishments
•Inform and remind members of upcoming meetings
•Design flyers and coordinate printing projects
•Communicate with other departments, President's office, etc.
•Assist Co-Chairs in communication with Executive Committee
•Assist with marketing and representation
•Draft letters
•Participate in facilitating portions of Executive Committee meetings

OFFICE ORGANIZATION

•Webmaster
•Purchase office supplies
•Prepare and copy meeting materials
•Create and maintain databases of all CSW members and affiliates
•Create and maintain databases for all CSW committees
•Create and maintain mailing lists of CSW members and affiliates
•Maintain email lists and answer all email inquiries
•Maintain and update CSW nametags and committee identifiers
•Maintain and update all CSW paper and computer files
