Ok,

Ok, so you do not have a
Bachelor's Degree. The next question is:

already? |

All right, so you do
not have a Bachelor's Degree and you are not currently a certified

you:
| Do you want to teach at the 7-12 grade level? |
Yes |
No |
Great!
You are seeking a Bachelor's Degree and want to teach at the 7-12 grade
level!
-
Although it is possible to teach at the
secondary level with just a vocational certification, many school
districts in Arizona require you to have secondary certification as
well. It is recommended that you consider one of our degrees
that lead to secondary certification, either our Business Education
emphasis or our Technology Education
emphasis .
- However, depending on your situation and desired area of teaching, a
customized program of study in our Occupational
Education emphasis may be right for
you. The benefit of this degree is that up to 53 hours of credit
can be granted for your occupational knowledge and experience.
Contact an advisor for more information.
Great!
You are seeking a Bachelor's Degree and do not want to teach as the 7-12 grade
level!
If you are interested in teaching at the K-8 level you may want to
consider an Elementary Education Degree with a Technology
Education emphasis.
If you are interested in corporate training, adult education, or other
areas our Occupational Emphasis is probably for you! The benefit of
this degree is that up to 53 hours of credit can be granted for your
occupational knowledge and experience. Contact an advisor for more
information.
Great!
You have a vocational teaching certificate but not a Bachelor's Degree!
- If you are only
seeking professional education courses in CTE to get your standard CTE
certification, and you do not desire to obtain a Bachelor's Degree at
this time, you can enroll as a part-time
non-degree seeking undergraduate student. Check out the classes
we are offering in professional education. You will only be able
to register for courses at the 100, 200, 300, and 400 levels.
- If you are
seeking a Bachelor's Degree I have one more question for you:
| Do you want to be Secondary Education Certified? |
Yes |
No |
All
Right, you currently do not have a Bachelor's Degree (but are vocationally
certified) and you want to be Secondary Education Certified!
OR
- If you have been teaching for two years already, our Occupational
Emphasis can
be customized to meet ADE certification requirements. The
benefit of this degree is that up to 53 hours of credit can be granted
for your occupational knowledge and experience. Contact an
advisor for more information.

You have a teaching certificate and a Bachelor's Degree!
Great!
So you do not have a teaching certificate BUT you do have a Bachelor's
Degree.
-
If you desire a teaching certificate
first you need to determine whether or not you want to be Secondary
Education certified or just CTE certified. Consult with the Arizona
Department of Education's Certification Division for more
information on certification. Our Post-Degree
Certification Program is probably for you if you desire Secondary
Education certification.
-
If you do not desire Secondary Education
certification you may need to take professional education courses in
CTE to get your CTE certification. Apply to NAU as a non-degree
seeking graduate student and check out the classes
we are offering in professional education.
- If you do not desire Secondary Education certification you can also
look into our Masters Degree in Education.
Classes you take as part of this program can be used as professional
education courses for your CTE certification if needed.
