Barbara Steen is a Disability Resources Specialist and works directly with students to assist them in receiving accommodations.
Barbara attended Northern Arizona University and earned her B.S. in Education. She received her M.A. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.
Barbara grew up in a military family and lived all over the United States and Asia. She moved to Flagstaff in 1983 and has lived here since. Barbara worked at NAU for seven years as a Certified Rehabilitation Teacher for the Blind and Visually Impaired. She then took a position as a Rehabilitation Counselor with the State of Arizona, Rehabilitation Services Administration, for nine years. Barbara returned to NAU in November of 2009 to work at Disability Resources.
In her free time Barbara enjoys walking her dogs, reading, movies, and spending time with her family and friends.
