Teacher General Air Quality Resources: Pyramid Game
The Pyramid Game provides opportunities for students to learn about specific air pollutants and their effects on the environment and on
public health. Below is an example of the instructions. You will also need to print the game board
(includes instructions), help sheet,
game cards, and answer key.
Shuffle the cards and place one card face down on each square of the pyramid.
One student begins on the lower level of the pyramid. The student turns the
card over and answers the question, using the Six Criterion Air Pollutants table as a reference. If the answer is
correct, the student earns the points indicated on the square. If the answer is incorrect, no points are earned.
This player continues until he or she attempts to answer all the questions. Points earned are totaled.
The left over cards are placed face down on the pyramid. Player 2 now tries
to answer the questions and tallies his/her score. [OR - reshuffle all cards; place one card face down on each square;
Player 2 begins answering questions]
