Cholla Power Plant Field Trip

A guided tour of the Cholla Power Plant near Joseph City gave students the opportunity to understand the process of transforming coal to energy. Students toured the entire facility including the control room and combustion tower. They learned that Cholla Power Plant consumes 120 tons of coal an hour while emitting into the atmosphere 1.5 tons of sulfur ash per year.
