The Grand Canyon on a clear day..
..on a moderately hazy day..
..and on a really hazy day.
Introduction:
Hello. We stayed in Flagstaff, AZ at Northern Arizona University so we could experience college schooling. We learned about the haze at the Grand Canyon, how power plants work, how air pollution can effect human lives, animals, and plant life. We learn about how cars run on alternative fuels so other cars will not pollute the air.  We also went to the forest to learn about how trees can grow with enough space, and how acid rain can effect the trees.  We went to the Grand Canyon to see the view and Carl Bowman gave a presentation on the Tower to keep the air clean and watches for haze through a telescope.  We are making a web page about what we have done with the Summer Scholars Program and to make a recommendation to give any ideas to people who pollute too much.  Our recommendation has positive and negative consequences because bad things might happen to our natural resources. We had a lot of fun.  We went to the movies, went swimming, play basketball, ate at the cafeteria, and had our own rooms, and we went to the IMAX theater and ate pizza.  It was a lot of work, taking notes, being in classes, and we had a lot of fun.

Summer Scholars hard at work!!

Recommendation:
Our recommendation is to have cars run on alternative fuels.

Positive Consequences:
There would be less pollution and better visibility at the Grand Canyon.

Negative Consequences:
It would cost more money because it will run on solar power.
It will make people angry because their jobs will be shutdown.

This is on a good day.

This is a Solar car. This is an electric car. Design for Solar car.
