Grand Canyon on a clear beautiful day!

 Hello Everyone,
We are here at Northern Arizona University with the Summer Scholars Program. We got the opportunity to study about haze (pollution) in the Grand Canyon. We came up with these two questions. "How did the haze get to the Grand Canyon?" and "What chemicals are in the haze?" To find the answers to these two questions we had to consult with experts, search the web, research at the library and talk with our peers about what they know about the haze in the Grand Canyon.
The reason why we did a research on the Grand Canyon was that we were concerned about the air quality and the visablity. Many tourist come from all over the world expecting to see the breath taking scenic views. But instead they see a polluted view of the Grand Canyon, which is the HAZE. That is the reason why we got the opportunity to be young scientist to find a solution to this problem.

Recommendation:
We recommend that scrubbers should be installed in all power plants.

Positive Consequences:
*Less air pollution.
*Less health problems.
*More tourists due to better visability and cleaner air.

Negative Consequences:
*Very expensive to install scrubbers in all power plants.
*For a scrubber to come into affect takes years.
*Less electricity for the people.
