Introduction:
Like most people you're probably wondering what this web page is about. This web page is done by two seventh graders going onto eighth grade. We are with the Summer Scholars Program here at Northern Arizona University studying the visibility problem in the Grand Canyon. So far we have taken three field trips that are based on one question all week, "What should be done about the haze in the Grand Canyon?" So far we haven't been able to answer this question. The reason we want to "save" the Grand Canyon is because it's one of our world's Seven Wonders and plus, the Grand Canyon is beautiful in every little way, so we don't want to lose it. Before we came to Summer Scholars we didn't know that there is a haze problem in the Grand Canyon. We wouldn't be able to help the Grand Canyon if it weren't for the Summer Scholars. We think that if enough individuals come help with this minor problem and if they were concerned about the haze, the haze may go away, minimize, or not grow. We know people have their own different opinions and we do, too. But the Grand Canyon is beautiful and we don't have to give up cars, but maybe we can try to at least restore its beauty. Here is our recommendation of how we can help with the haze in the Grand Canyon. |

| Recommendation:
The cause of the haze in the Grand Canyon is mainly from vehicles, so we should not drive too much of the cars to the rim of the Canyon. We think bikes are good for taking to the trails on the rim of the Grand Canyon. Positive Consequences:
Negative Consequences:
That's our recommendation on how to stop or prevent any further pollution it all ready has!!! |
