Introduction

I came to Summer Scholars because I knew that it would help me understand more about the Environment.   So far I have learned about how we got the pollution in the Grand Canyon, the kinds of pollution we breath in, and I have learned that the reason people get asthma and skin cancer is all due to the pollution.   I feel that we are living with the haze so we should do something about it, like have more scrubbers, or have less power plants in this area.  I think that we should do something about the Grand Canyon because if we don't they would be losing millions and millions of dollars because if the tourists go to the Grand Canyon they would want to see the canyon but if the haze continues to grow the tourists would just be looking at the haze instead of the canyon.  This week we have been doing researches on the environment like what happen to the forests after a fire and how fast it travels in a clear area  or a dog hair thicket, we also seen how fast it spreads on a mountain and on a flat area.   We found all this research on the computers , we even took field trips to the Cholla Power Plant, the Grand Canyon, and Ft. Valley Experimental Forest, where some people talked to us about what they do and they answered some of our questions.  I am going to talk about my recommendation on what I am going to do about the haze and I want to do about it.

Recommendation:
My recommendation is that we should shut down all of the power plants because it causes pollution.    I also wanted no more vehicles because that is another reason why we have pollution.

Positive Consequences:
Less pollution,  health problems, and safer for everyone.

Negative Consequences:
There will be no power and you would not be able to drive anywhere.

This is the Grand Canyon
