For the past week of June 15-22, our class has been working on a project about pollution. Our goup had to find out how power plants effected the Grand Canyon. So what we have been doing is finding information on how pollution is caused in our environment and the Grand Canyon. We studied the habitats by going to one of the power plants to see how much pollution it gives off and why. We also went to Ft.Valley Expiremental Forest to check on how forest fires are caused and how rapidly it could grow from place to place. We Also checked how many inches of rainfall the trees got in the past, compared to today. Our final field trip was going to the Grand Canyon to see the haze caused by substances which make air pollution. We're sure that not only ourselves, but other students as well also saw that there was haze everywhere and it was pretty hard to breathe and the temperatures grew rapidly.
