Do I have to be registered for classes at NAU before completing an EARP?

Yes, before your EARP is submitted you must be registered for classes, except for those taking classes at ASU or U of A.

How can I tell if the EARP has been processed?

There are several ways that you can verify the EARP discount. It is recommended that you

What is the last day an employee can submit an EARP for a given semester or summer session ?

The EARP cannot be accepted after the last day of instruction for the semester or summer session for which the permit is to be applied. Check with the NAU Office of the Bursar regarding payments or refunds.

Can I receive an EARP and a Graduate Assistantship tuition waiver?

No.  Graduate students receiving a graduate assistantship appointments are generally accompanied with tuition benefits (up to 75% waiver of tuition costs during Fall/Spring terms).  Graduate Assistants who are entitled to tuition benefits through the Educational Aid Registration Permit (EARP) (1-9 hours=$25) must choose between the two tuition benefit options and inform the Graduate College of their choice.  For more information on this policy, please visit:    nau.edu/gradcol/graduateAssistants.asp

How do I know if I'm required to submit a Dependent Affidavit?

You must submit a Dependent Affidavit if:

  • The EARP will be used for a dependent child with a different last name than the employee.
  • The dependent applying for the EARP will be age 24 at any time during the calendar year in which the EARP is being applied.
  • The dependent applying for the EARP is not listed as a beneficiary on the employee’s university benefits (i.e., health, dental).

  • THe dependent applying for the EARP is requested by an NAU affiliate
