Q: Where is Fronske Health Center Located?

Q: Can I walk in to Fronske Health Center without an appointment?
A: Although we recommend that you call to make an appointment, we offer an Urgent Care Clinic daily for same day injuries or illnesses. If you have a medical condition that has been chronic or can wait till the next day we suggest calling for an appointment.
Q:I have health insurance with my employer. Will my health insurance cover my son or daughter at NAU?
A:Many insurance companies require that you receive health care services from providers contracted with your health plan. If your insurance company allows you to be seen by non-contracted providers, the health center can provide the student with a receipt that provides the procedure and diagnosis code if you choose to file a claim with your insurance carrier. It is recommended that you consider purchasing the Gold Plan. For less than an annual deductible, and most office visit fee rates, you can purchase primary care services from Fronske Health Center for an entire semester. To find out what insurance companies we are contracted with, please contact our Business Office at (928) 523.6343.
Q: Does a student have to own health insurance to be seen at Fronske Health Center?
A: No. To be seen at Fronske Health Center a student needs only to be attending Northern Arizona University. The Gold Plan offered by Fronske Health Center is not an insurance policy. If you need major medical health insurance coverage an optional plan is sold through Fronske Health Center.
Q: If I choose to purchase the Gold Plan, can I file that fee with my private health insurance carrier?
A: No. The Gold Plan is designed to provide students with the most cost effective, accessible health care. This Plan is designed like a health fee. The fee cannot be attached to a particular service (office visit fee, lab test, x-ray) because it pays for the services provided all semester long. Remember this fee is probably lower than your annual deductible or co-pays!
Q: How do I make an appointment to see a provider at Fronske Health Center?
A: It's easy! Just call 523-8995. Chances are, we can see you the same day! Fronske keeps 60% of its appointments available for same-day urgent illness and injury. If you want to see a particular provider use our appointment line to get a pre-scheduled appointment. You may also walk-in for our Urgent Care Clinic from 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. each afternoon (you are seen in the order of arrival and urgency) by the provider working the walk-in clinic that day.
Q: Does Fronske have "real" doctors?
A: Absolutely. Our doctors and midlevel providers are just like the ones you have at home. They have successfully completed rigorous courses of training and credentialing (ie. Medical School, Nursing School). Our providers meet all of the requirements for practicing in the state of Arizona and our accrediting body's (AAAHC) credentialing requirements. As well, all of our physicians are Board Certified in Family Practice. The Fronske Health Center has been accredited continuously for the past nineteen years.
