Medical Services

 Flagstaff Medical Center -provides the rape kit examination for evidence collection, treatment of physical trauma, and sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy testing. These exams are provided in the emergency room.

NAU Fronske Health Center -provides a medical exam that will help identify and treat trauma and STDs, mental health services, as well as test for pregnancy. Services are limited to currently enrolled students.

Coconino County STD Clinic-provides STD and HIV testing and counseling. Testing results are confidential and anonymous.

Planned Parenthood-provides contraceptive care, sexually transmitted disease (STD) screening, pregnancy testing, and abortions to 9 weeks. Individual outpatient counseling about pregnancy, sexuality, and relationships is also provided.

 Associated Students for Women’s Issues (ASWI) - representative group that promotes education, outreach and advocacy relative to issues that concern women.

Multicultural Student Center- peer advisors provide personal assistance in many areas.

NAU Office of Residence Life- provides crisis intervention, often through Resident Assistants or Residence Hall Directors who are available on a 24-hour basis in their individual halls. Discussing options, referrals, and providing follow-up are primary services they can provide. Housing reassignments may also be coordinated here for survivors who live on campus. Additionally, disciplinary procedures for assailants who live in campus housing can be coordinated through this office, and a sanction of up to and including revocation of the housing contract can be issued.

 NAU Office of Student Life- the Office of Student Life at NAU can assist survivors by assessing immediate need for services and advocacy as well as with appropriate referrals that might be helpful. Academic accommodations, if appropriate or needed, can also be
arranged by Student Life staff. Staff can assist survivors with various
decisions based on available intervention services. Student Life staff can also provide information regarding the "Student Disciplinary Procedures" if the other individual was an NAU student. NAU's "Student Disciplinary Procedures" may be an appropriate process regarding administrative action that can involve sanctions from educational programs up to expulsion from the university.

 Sexual Assault Relationship Violence Education Coordinator (SARV) - provides education programming on campus and coordinates the Campus/Community Task Force on Sexual Assault and Relationship Violence.

Police

University Police- the role of University Police will be to: 

  • Conduct a full investigation upon victim request; complete a departmental report, which will be maintained in the NAU Police Department Records Division. 
  • Advise victim that all discussions are not confidential, as the investigation may require, as per the Campus Security Act, notification of the Incident Management Team if immediate danger is posed to the University community; the case may also be forwarded to the County Attorney's Office and/or Student Life for review.

Campus Safety Aids- CSA’s patrol campus on foot and provide public assistance such as escorting students across campus.
