Northern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault (NACASA) Services

  • Medical/Forensic Exams (Code R Kits) by trained Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners ( SANEs) in a victim-friendly setting. We only conduct a medical/forensic exam if law enforcement authorizes it to be conducted. STD Preventative Medications / Emergency Contraception would be provided as an option.
  • All other assistance that Victim/Witness Services provides (see summary above)
  • We currently refer out to the County Health Department, Primary Care Physician, Fronske or Planned Parenthood to do medical exams/STD prophylaxis/emergency contraception if the victim chooses not to report. Those agencies will not do evidence collection.
  • Contacting NACASA will not result in a police report unless the (adult) victim wishes to report. Refer clients to NACASA who want information about what is required to make a report or who is in need of advocacy services.

Victim Witness Services

  • Crisis response after hours

We are open Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, closed during the noon hour.

If you have an emergency and need to speak to a victim advocate after hours please call NAU Police Department dispatch at 928-523-3611 or Flagstaff Police Department dispatch at 928-774-1414 and ask them to page an advocate to call you back. You will not be required to give anything more than you first name and a phone number at which you can be reached.

  • On-going criminal justice advocacy and resource referrals

A victim advocate can provide ongoing support by explaining the investigation process, criminal court process and Arizona Crime Victims’ Rights as well as assisting a victim in implementing those rights. The advocate will also make appropriate resource referrals bases on victim needs that are presented.

  • Crime Victim Compensation Benefits

This program can pay for crime related medical costs, funeral expenses, counseling and work loss.

  • Pets, Too!

Temporary shelter may be provided for the pet of a domestic violence victim who is fleeing the abuse and going into shelter.

Victim/Witness Services and NACASA are located at:

5200 E. Cortland Blvd., Suite B5
Flagstaff, AZ 86004
