How To Apply
Most Health Professional schools prefer to receive a Biomedical Professions Committee Evaluation from their applicants, rather than a packet of individual letters of recommendation.
In addition to your Committee Evaluation, you may include up to three individual letters of recommendation, but it is not mandatory. These additional letters should demonstrate your abilities to work in the field and be from health professionals with whom you have worked.
What is a Biomedical Professions Committee Evaluation?
This evaluation is the result of interviews you will have with the Biomedical Faculty Committee in the spring of your junior year. Expect questions about your background, academic record, and clinical experience to determine your motivation and preparation for your chosen profession.
To obtain a Biomedical Professions Committee Evaluation you should -
- Schedule a meeting with Monica Bai at the Gateway Student Success Center during the Fall of your Junior Year
- Call the Front Desk at 523-4772 to make the appointment
After your interview, the Committee will write a summary evaluation: this is your Biomedical Professions Committee Evaluation.
Important Things to Remember
- You must be an NAU student to be interviewed by the Biomedical Professions Committee.
- If you are requesting additional letters of recommendation from other sources, pick up the Instructions for Writing a Recommendation Letter in the Office of Biomedical Professions, and distribute to those recommending you.
- It is your responsibility to check in with the Office of Biomedical Professions to make sure all of your letters have arrived before requesting that they be sent to Health Professional schools
