Faculty:
We are recommending that faculty use Gateway Connects for providing information to their students on jobs, internships and experiential opportunities in their majors.
It is a great resource for students because:
- It is a searchable format for students--they can type in key
words, locate your job, and submit a resume to the employer
- Students can use this database at their convenience, online, 24
hours a day and are not restricted to having to physically come
into the office or conduct their search only during our office
hours
- It allows student to search opportunities by major and by class level
(seniors, etc.)
- It allows students to immediately see opportunities they are qualified
for and apply to them directly
- It removes the "middleman" --students can update their profiles or
make changes to their resumes and communicate with employers
and organizations 24 hours a day
- Students can view all employers who are participating in the bi-annual Career & Graduate School Fairs and see who is recruiting in
their major
- It allows faculty a method of searching opportunities for their
students, making contact with organizations within their
department/major area, and the ability to directly speak with
contacts to get the most up-to-date information on recruitment in
their area
